Tilfred Ostrem, age 87 of Viroqua, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Tilfred H. Ostrem, age 87 of Viroqua, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. He was born on May 15, 1923 in Viroqua to Ole and Anna (Gabrielson) Ostrem. On February 26, 1944 Tilfred was united in marriage to Velma Johnson. Tilfred was a steward of the land as a farmer and was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church. He is survived by his five children: Roland (Linda) Ostrem, Richard Ostrem, Rita (Richard) Selin, Rebecca (Edward) Puent, and Anna (Gerald) Zebell; 10 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two great, great grandsons; one sister, Thelma (Rudolph) Skrede; one brother, Cliferd ( Ethel Mae) Ostrem; 1 half sister, Betty (Daniel) Stalsberg; 2 half brothers, Howard Ostrem and David Ostrem; one sister-in-law, Ordetta (Johnson) (Don) Rach; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife on August 10, 1997; an infant brother, Tillman H. Ostrem; two sisters, Olga (Herbert) Bahr and Alice Nimocks; grandson, Troy Torgerson; daughters-in-law (wives of Richard) Cheryl Ostrem and Spirit Ostrem; and son-in-law (husband of Rita) Wayne Torgerson; two half brothers, Gary and Kenneth Ostrem . Blessed be our memory of Tilfred H.Ostrem Due to the fire at Bethel Lutheran Church, funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Pastor Kris Fahey will officiate with burial in the Bethel Cemetery, rural Viroqua. Friends may call on Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker Street, (Hwy. 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m until time of service.
