Tolene Buroker

Tolene Buroker, 95, of Soldiers Grove, passed away on Thursday, December 09, 2021, at Soldiers Grove Health Services in Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin. She was born on February 23, 1926, in Rural Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin, to Tilman and Beatrice (Hoffland) Knutson. She married Myron Buroker on October 01, 1946. Tolene and Myron farmed on Myron’s parents' family farm for a few years, moved to Richland Center WI, then after a few years returned to Soldiers Grove where they farmed the Knutson farm until 1971. Tolene was also employed part-time as a Nurse's Aide at the Pine Grove/Sannes Skogdalen Nursing Home for over 30 years. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and had also served as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 220 in Soldiers Grove for many years. Nothing provided more joy in life than being with her family and friends at meals, outings, parties, church, and social events. Tolene is survived by her three children; Ken (Mary) of Madison, Deanna (Gary) Nelson of Soldiers Grove, and Jeff (Kristi) of La Farge; 10 grandchildren: Megan (Justin) Mirkes, Katie Buroker, Andrew (Audra) Nelson, Jesse (Megan) Nelson, Garrett (Jennifer) Nelson, Carrie (Cameron) Gulley, Ryan Buroker, Stuart (Katie) Everson, Keith Buroker, and Kiley Buroker; a brother-in-law, Gordon Buroker of Blanchardville, WI; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her brother, Lawrence (Judy) Knutson; her sisters, Hazel (Omar) Dull, Genevieve (Maurice) Thoftne, Lorraine (Christen) Davig, Emma (Raymond) Fortney, Betty (Don) Finley, and Patty (Roderick) Olson; and her parents. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church are appreciated. A Funeral Service will be held at noon on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Soldiers Grove. Pastor Carrie Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
