Trygve Howard Thompson

Trygve Howard Thompson, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on February 10, 2023, at the age of 84. He was born to Howard and Alice (Knutson) Thompson in La Crosse on January 27, 1939. Trygve graduated from Westby High School in 1957 and married Millie (Moon) Thompson on May 16, 1964.

Trygve was a 4th generation farmer on his home farm during which he worked for Farmers Union (now Premier Co-Op), Walt Ekern Excavating, Erickson Transport of Coon Valley, and the Westby Creamery. After retiring from farming, he worked for Joe and Todd Vesbach until retiring in 2020.

Survivors include his wife, Millie; children, Sarah and Michael Thompson; brother, Joel (Anne) Thompson; grandchildren, Chad Normann, Jeremy (Zia) Normann, Nathan Normann, and Evan Thompson; and many special friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Butikk, American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.

A Memorial will be held at Noon on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. A reception will be held at the funeral home on Thursday after the service. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
