Vera Cox

Vera Cox, 96 of Viroqua, died Sunday, December 18, 2011. Vera B. (Olson) Cox, 96 , of Viroqua Passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2011. She was born November 12, 1915 in Vernon County to Henry B. and Frances I. Olson. She married William H. Cox on July 31, 1937. They farmed on Pleasant Ridge, rural Viroqua, until moving to Viroqua in 1969. Vera then worked full time for the Bethel Home for 15 years and was a volunteered there for many years after her retirement.Vera is survived by her son, Errett (Shelby) Cox of Viroqua; grandsons: Sean (Stacy) Cox of La Crosse and Bryan Cox and special friend, Michel Stegall of Holmen; great-grandchildren: Lauren, Sarah and William, "Little Will" Cox and Nicole Stegall. She is also survived by a special cousin, Dick Grothe of Squim, Washington; special friends: Ruth McClurg and Lila Cina. In addition to her parents and husband, Vera was preceded in death by her brother, Errett B. Olson who was killed in action in World War II; nephews: Harlan Clements and William Adams; niece, Frances Cass and several relatives and friends. Vera was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed. God bless her memory. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Reverend Lindsay Paul Jordan will officiate with burial in Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (hwy56), on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. and also at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
