Listen to Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Verlin Gorman Christianson, 79, of Genoa died peacefully at home on October 7, 2025. He was born on January 11, 1946, in Viroqua, WI to Norman and Darleen (Turner) Christianson. He graduated from Kickapoo High School in 1964. On June 28, 1985, he married Teresa (Mueller) in Viroqua, WI. Verlin worked for G Heileman Brewing/City Brewery from 1979 until retiring in January, 2009. Following his retirement, he worked Weekend Relief for City Brewery in 2009 and 2010. He started driving part-time for Dahl Automotive doing Dealer Trades in 2011 until 2025. He also continued doing his other odd jobs mowing lawns and removing snow. He would say “he has worked harder since retirement because of his to do lists (honey do, dad do, grandpa do, and others do) were keeping him busy”. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to auctions, cooking and canning. Verlin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, brother, and brother-in-law.

In addition to his wife, Teresa, he is survived by daughter, Darleen (David) Walker of Kasson, MN; three sons, Rickey (Sara) Christianson of Cashton, WI, Eric (Erica) Koch and Aaron (Jennifer) Koch of De Soto, WI; grandchildren: Thomas Walker, Logan and Caden Christianson, Emilee (Gage Bath), Evan, and Ella Koch, Abigail (Mason) Parr, Payton Koch, Anthony and Makayla Anderson; great granddaughters, Esme and Bethany Parr; brother, Merlin Christianson of Genoa, WI; sister, Doris Ray of Baytown, TX; sisters-in-law, Deb Christianson of De Soto, WI and Dawn (Ron) Allert of Centennial, CO; brother-in-law, Dale (Barb) Mueller, Jr. of Holmen, WI; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Carl; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Bessie Turner; paternal grandparents, Carl and Bella Christianson; mother-in-law, Darlene Timmer; father-in-law, Dale Mueller, Sr.; three brothers-in-law, DuWayne and Daniel Mueller and Alfred Ray; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Christianson and Sheree Thompson, and a very special Aunt Lucille "Toots" Cooper.
