Verlin P. Buros, Jr.

Verlin P. Buros, Jr. age 60 of Coon Valley, died Sunday, June 6, 2010. Verlin P. "JR" Buros, Jr. age 60 of Coon Valley, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 6, 2010. He was born Sept. 23, 1949 in Vernon Co. to Verlin P. (Sr.) and Lillian (Holt) Buros. He married Kay (Myhre) on Oct. 2, 1976. Verlin served in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and retired from Trane Co. on Oct. 1, 2009. He enjoyed participating in Rendezvous around the area, and he also enjoyed woodworking and fishing. JR loved spending time with his honorary children, family and friends. He is survived by his wife Kay (Myhre) and their "special daughters": Cynthia Clark and Melissa Linenberg and "honorary grandchildren" Nicolette Clark, Kyle Kast and McKenzie Linenberg; siblings: Barbara (Martin) Hanson of Harlingen, TX, Vernon Buros of Coon Valley, and Elizabeth (Ron) Nelson of Pocasset, OK; several nieces and nephews: Danny Hanson, Randy (Sarah) Hanson, Tim (Megan Jasek) Hanson, Russell (Kathy) Dull, Jacob Dull, and Benjamin Nelson; great nieces and nephews: Cory Hanson, Kayla, Gabrielle, Connor, and Maxwell Hanson, Ava Ellen and Tor Hanson, Matthew, Alex and Brandan Dull and Kayla Dull; mother-in-law Elvera Myhre; sisters-in-law: Anita (John) Schneider, Rita (Bill) Huiss and niece Alicia Penchi. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Verlin P. Sr. on September 17, 1984; his mother, Lillian, on June 7, 1986; and his father-in-law, Ole Myhre on October 16, 2006. Blessed be our memory of Verlin Buros, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate with military rites to follow. Burial will be in the Our Saviors Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday after 9:30 a.m. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
