Vicky Lynn Carraher

Vicky Carraher, 79, of Holmen, WI died Monday, March 16, 2026 with her daughter Cari by her side, ending a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

After growing up in and graduating from high school in Prairie du Chein, Vicky married Jerry Carraher and they moved to Holmen where they raised their children, Cari and Travis. Vicky was a talented piano player and taught piano lessons, accompanied for Solo Ensemble, and played for Sunday services at Onalaska Church of Christ. Vicky was also an in-home childcare provider for many years. Later Vicky went to work in LaCrosse at Hawkins Ash CPAs as a receptionist for over 30 years, retiring in December 2024. Vicky loved people and had many friends and a beloved family. She was incredibly proud of her daughter Cari and grandsons Derek and Jacob Michel. She especially enjoyed time spent with friends playing cards, going to lunch, clogging and line dancing. For the last 15 years she hosted the annual Carraher Christmas cookie bake, which was always a time of love and laughter.

Vicky was preceded in death by her parents and mother and father-in-law, loving husband Jerry, precious young son Travis, and sister Patricia Bahe. Left to cherish her memory, laugh, and play lots of cards in her honor are daughter Cari Michel of Lodi, grandsons Derek and Jacob Michel, special nieces and nephews, her dear Carraher sisters and brothers-in-law, and her many treasured friends.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Agrace Hospice for their brief but compassionate care of Vicky.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 20 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Onalaska Church of Christ, 1415 Well Street, Onalaska, WI. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00am at church. A visitation will begin at 9:30am until the time of service. A burial will immediately follow at Onalaska Cemetery.
