Virgie M. Running

Virgie Running, age 86 of Westby, died Monday, December 31, 2007 Virgie Marie Running, age 86 of Westby, died Monday, December 31, 2007 at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. She was born on October 21, 1921 in Sterling Township to Freeman and Alvina (Catnaw) Sidie. She Married Palmer Running November 24, 1945. Virgie loved to put puzzles together, care for her grandkids, watch her birds, and go for scenic rides with Marvin. She is survived by her friend: Marvin Anderson; five children: Roland (Mary) Running, Sandy (Paul Roob) Larson, Linda (Don) Osuski, Shirley (Blaine) Bjornstad, Richard Running (Sandy); 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by Siblings: Margie Ophus, Alice Gemmill, Dorothy Sidie, Charles Sidie and Clarence Sidie.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Palmer; two sons: Gene and DuWayne; grandson: Kevin Running; two sisters: Lorraine Ophus and Irene Strait. A special Thank you to Liz Broadhead and family for your special care, from the family of Virgie Running. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the North Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, at Newry. Pastor John Stennes-Spidahl will officiate with burial in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.The Vosseteig Funeral Homes of Westby is serving the family.
