Lea Arneson, age 95 of Viroqua, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 Lea Arneson, age 95 of Viroqua, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at the Vernon Manor in Viroqua. She was born on September 18, 1911 in Vernon County to Thomas and Mabel (Worman) Watson. She graduated from Central High School and then went on to graduate from teachers college. Lea taught at Brookville School prior to her marriage to Don Arneson on October 8, 1932 in Galena, IL. She later worked for Marx Insurance Agency, Wisconsin Insurance Center, and Bentson Insurance. Lea was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her two children: Annabel (Larry) McGarry and Tom (Cheryl) Arneson, both of Viroqua; four grandchildren: Sam Arneson, Stacey Arneson, Matthew McGarry and Rachel (Charles) Turben; eight great-grandchildren: Aaron, Aric, Ashley, Karlie, Jordan, Kami, Dawn, and Casey; two great-great grandchildren: Dylan and Konner; and one brother, Loren (Evelyn) Watson of Viroqua. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Irene Tewalt; her husband, Don on February 13, 1993; and her grandson, Joel McGarry on January 20, 2007. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Pastor Alice Richards will officiate with burial in the Walnut Mound Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
