Walter E. Vesbach

Walter E. Vesbach, 87, passed away surrounded by his family and friends early Saturday morning, August 19, 2006 at his daughter (Vernels) home in Westby, Wis. He was born January 21, 1919, in Muskego, Wis. to Emil and Catherine (Schaefer) Vesbach. He farmed in Muskego until 1976, then moved to Liberty Pole, onto Westby, Stitzer, and finished farming in 2004. Walter was involved in the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus at St. Leonards Catholic Church in Muskego. He is survived by his 15 children: Thomas Vesbach of LaFarge, Wis., Joseph (Barbara) Vesbach of Viroqua, Wis., Carol (David) Hall of Westby, Wis., Raymond Vesbach of Greenfield, Wis., Marion (Frederick) Funk of East Troy, Wis., Nancy (Victor) Jaramillo of Phoenix, AZ, Patrick (Maria Belen) Vesbach of Viroqua, Wis., Louise (Richard) Rickelman of Chardon, OH, Judith (Michael) Weinkauf of Burlington, Wis., Jane Vesbach of Dousman, Wis., Gerald (Constance) Vesbach of Liberty Pole, Wis., Paul (Janet) Vesbach of Novelty, OH, Vernel (Brian) Nelson of Westby, Wis., Allen Vesbach of West Palm Beach, FL, Charles (Karen) Vesbach of Platteville, Wis.; 41 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; brother Edwin Vesbach of Windlake, Wis.; sister Lucille (Vesbach) Snyder of Big Bend, Wis.; sister-in-law, Madgelin (Snyder) Vesbach of Muskego, Wis; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by Dorothy (Larsen) Vesbach, wife of thirty six years, in 1990; a brother, Milton Vesbach; sister-in-law, Mildred (Scherrei) Vesbach; a daughter-in-law, Linda Vesbach; son-in-law, Rudy Koch; grandson, Matthew Scheifen; and infant twin grandchildren. WE LOVE YOU DAD!!! A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Viroqua. Father Robert J. Cook will celebrate the Mass with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Scripture Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday after 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials in the form of Masses, may be directed to St. Marys Catholic Church, 400 Congress in Viroqua, WI 54665. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
