Warren Gillmore, age 85 of Viroqua and formerly of Union Grove, Wisconsin, died Thursday, March 6, 2008. Warren Gillmore, age 85 of Viroqua and formerly of Union Grove, Wisconsin, died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. Funeral services will be held in Union Grove Wisconsin under the direction of Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home, 908 11th Street in Union Grove, WI 53182 (262) 878-2011 Warren A. Gillmore,Age 85, of Viroqua, formally of Union Grove, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Bethel Nursing Home in Viroqua, WI. He was born July 31, 1922 in Bristol, to Benjamin and Addie (nee Devine) Gillmore. He graduated from Wilmot High School and from the Agricultural School Short Course in Madison following high school. He married Ruth Winfield on June 26, 1946. Warren and his wife farmed together with his brother Glenn in Kenosha County for several years. They rented another farm for 3 years in Kenosha County before buying their farm near Union Grove, where they raised their family and farmed for 40 years. Warren and Ruth retired and moved to Cashton, living their dream, a house in the woods, for 13 years. In the fall of 2006 they moved to an apartment in Viroqua. He became a resident of Bethel Nursing Home in December of 2007. He was a member of the Washburn Masonic Lodge No. 0145. He also served on the Board of the Midland Co-op in Union Grove. It gave him great pleasure to make things out of wood for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Gillmore of Viroqua, sons, Donald Gillmore of Albuquerque, NM, Ben (Nancy) Gillmore of Holmen, daughters, Susan (Aaron) Billings of Versailles, KY, Peggy (Jerry) Dunnum of Coon Valley, Kay (John) Peden of Allendale, MI, son-in-law, David Sr. (Maryann) Melby of Union Grove, 10 grandchildren, Jamie (Martha Priddy) Billings of Indianapolis, IN, Teresa Billings of Versailles, KY, Kelly (Julie) Dunnum of Westby, Jacob (Jen) Dunnum of Prairie Du Sac, Elizabeth (Kevin) Kraker of Allendale, MI, Lynn Peden of Wyoming, MI, Carrie (Dennis) Lieding of Libertyville, IL, David Jr. (Toni) Melby of Westby, Evan and Jared Gillmore of Holmen, 11 great-grandchildren, Magan & Jessica Billings, Garrett & Anna Dunnum, Ally, Cora & Nick Dunnum, Jaden & Joshua Kraker, Derrick & Brett Lieding. He is further survived by a brother, Ernest (Marie) Gillmore of Paddock Lake, sisters, Mildred Memler of West Columbia, SC, Nellie Graham of DeLand, FL and a sister-in-law, Wilma Gillmore of Juneau. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Karen Melby, grandson, Arnold Warren Billings,brothers, Fred (Benjamin) Gillmore, Glenn (Edith) Gillmore, twin brothers at birth, brothers-in-law, Elmer Graham, John Memler, niece, Carol Bennett and nephew, John Gillmore. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11:00AM at Wesley Chapel in Bristol with Rev. Tim OBrien and Rev. Mary Lu Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at South Bristol Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Friday, March 14th from 4 8PM at the funeral home with a 7:30 PM Masonic Service and ALSO on Saturday, March 15th from 10 11AM at CHURCH.
