Wayne Hamilton (202), age 57 of Viola, died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse. He was born at home in Viola on March 3, 1949 to Carl and Lulu (Risen) Hamilton. He was part of the first graduating class of the new Kickapoo High School. He married Charlene Clark at St. Marys Catholic Church in Viroqua on January 25, 1969; and was also drafted into the military in 1969. He worked for the Northern Wisconsin Cooperative Tobacco Pool for 33 years. He loved to hunt, fish, dance, and camp. He especially enjoyed sitting around the campfire. He was a member of the Viola Sportsmans Club. In addition to his wife, Charlene, he is survived by his children: Julie (Dan) Wang of Madison, Kimberly (Martin) Hatfield of LaFarge, Christopher, and Brenda both of Viola; his four grandchildren: Teaka Hatfield, Garrett Hatfield, Ethan Wang, and Elise Wang; his brothers: Cecil (Marie) Risen of Florida, Kirby (Verla) Hamilton of Viola, and James (Ellie) Hamilton of Iowa; his sisters: Judy Clason of Footville, Connie Willis of Pleasant Prairie, and Lois (Dave) Germain of Kenosha. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Carol Hamilton of Merrilan, and 39 nieces and nephews as well as his great-nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Don Risen and Bill Hamilton; one sister, Joyce Dosch, and 2 brothers-in-law, Woodrow Clason and Gary Dosch. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center, 129 South Main (Hwy 56) in Viola. Father Robert Cook will officiate. Burial with military rites by Hamilton-Harris American Legion Post #447 will be in the Viola Cemetery. Friends may call at the Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center on Thursday from 4 7 p.m. and on Friday after 9:30 a.m. The Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center of Viola is serving the family.
