Welma Mills, age 99 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. She was born on July 24, 1913 to Will and Ida (Mickelson) Anderson. She graduated from the Vernon Co. Normal School in 1932 with a teaching degree. She taught at Evening Star School until her marriage on June 10, 1942 to J. Robert Mills. Welma continued to teach and Robert farmed for many years. She was a member of English Ev. Lutheran Church in Viroqua. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Evelyn Mills of Viroqua; nieces and nephews: William (Sandra) Anderson, Ioma Anderson, Cal (Pat) Anderson, Dean (Janet) Anderson, Bonnie Quackenbush, Janice Appleman, Tom (Kathy) Richardson, Iris Richardson, Beverly Rogan, Keith Mills, Ronnie Mills, Elaine Bolstad, Audrey Luthala, Arden Mills, and Betty Starck; many great nieces and nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Victor, Nolen, Arlo, Leland, and Alice; nephews: Verlyn Anderson, Larry Mills, and Dale Patterson; great niece Judy Olson; great-great nephew, Jake Nundahl Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at English Ev. Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Pastor John C. Berg will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker St. in Viroqua and at the church on Friday after 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to the Viroqua English Lutheran School. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
