Willard "Wyld Lyon" Copus

Willard Gregory Copus “Wyld Lyon”, 68, of De Soto, died on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. He was born on August 13, 1956, in Edgerton, WI to Willard Leslie and Merrian (Wendtland) Copus. He attended the Beloit and Edgerton School Districts and later attended Blackhawk Technical College. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division as a mechanic. He was a jack of all trades and worked hard to take care of his children. His sense of humor was known to many. Willard enjoyed hunting and fishing. He owned a karaoke service and could fix anything.

Survivors include his children, Monica (Kevin Jones) Copus, Richard “Richie” (Kallie Bagnell) Copus, and Brandi (Ron Sanders) Copus; his grandchildren, Austin (Zoe), Mariah, Iziah, Emma, Trystan, Quintin, Sebastian, Alycen, Amethyst, and Savannah; his former wife and mother of his children, Jane Lavonne Copus Rivera; his nieces and nephews, Angela, Kristi, Tommy, Tim, Scott; other relatives and friends.

Willard was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Victor, Larry, Cheryl, and Regina; and his special cousin, Frank Copus.

A Graveside Service with full military honors will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Mook Cemetery in Rolling Ground. A Celebration of Willard’s Life will follow at Old Towne Inn, Westby. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
