William Ertel

William ErtelMarch 2, 2005 William Ertel, 84, of Viroqua, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at the Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. He was born in Crawford County to Sam and Ona (Taylor) Ertel. He worked for the Vernon Co. Hwy. Dept. until his retirement. Since then, he and his wife of 37 years, Virginia "Ginnie" (Sime) have been living in Tempe AZ. They just recently moved back to Viroqua. Bill will always be remembered for his friendliness and always willing to help others in need. He will truly be missed. Survivors include his wife "Ginnie"; two sons: Gary (Doris) Ertel of Hillpoint, WI, John (Gail Schultz) of Custer, SD; two step-daughters: Bonnie Brockway of Tempe, AZ and Carol "Cookie" LaBarge of Viroqua; one step-son, K. Terry (Kathy) Sime of Richland Center; 10 grandchildren: Jason Ertel (Fiance Chrissie) of Frankfurt, Germany, Jarrod (Dawn) Ertel of Wonewoc, Jocelynn (Jeff) Wilson of Richland Center, Paul Brockway of New Mexico, Vicki (Terry) Bankes of Ferryville, WI, Mark (Lorraine) Brockway of Port St. Lucia, FL, Bethany (Tom) Beightol of Brown Deer, WI, JoEllen (Tim) Zitzner of Readstown, WI, Bradley (Karla) Sime of Holmen, WI, Kelcie (Hassan) Fortney of Viroqua, WI; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
